Stephanie’s Expecting Twins! – Northern Virginia Maternity Photographer

I met with new friends, Stephanie and Justin, for their mini maternity session. They’re expecting twins, a boy and a girl, in a couple months. While I know what it’s like to have two kids, I couldn’t imagine twins.

I met with Hailey and Jon for some maternity pictures in Ashburn on a perfect rainy day. Despite the wet weather, it was great conditions for shooting. Here is a sneak peek of a couple of my favorites!

This is one deserved a fun effect!

We had to find some cover… the first one is one of my favorites with the water dripping down.

Sandy’s Maternity Shoot – Northern Virginia Maternity Photographer

I met with Sandy and Branden for some maternity pictures in Woodbridge on a hot Spring day. Sandy and Branden are friends from high school and recent real estate clients of mine. We took pictures at Leesylvania State Park nearby where they dock their boat and close to their new home! Here are a few of my favorites from the morning… BTW, Sandy is due in only 3 weeks!

Kristie’s Maternity Session – Northern Virginia Maternity Photographer

Wes and Kristie are expecting their first baby in mid-May, right around Kristie’s birthday! They’re having a little princess and couldn’t be more excited. We found out they were expecting when they visited us in the hospital for Landon’s birth. Kelly and I can’t wait to meet her!

It’s always fun shooting with friends… there is about 90% laughing and about 5% seriousness. I’m not sure where the other 5% is.

The session fee includes all of the digital files & personal use rights to all photos! Portrait sessions include engagement, senior/graduates, maternity, newborn, family, trash the dress, bridal, boudoir, or just because. To lock in 2010 pricing, portrait sessions must be paid for by the end of January 2011, but can be redeemed anytime.

Group sessions are great for high school senior or “just because” portraits. By booking with a couple friends, you can have a great time together while receiving a discount! Ask me about portrait party and multiple session discounts.

Based on demand, my 2010 wedding pricing is good for weddings booked (contract and deposit received) by the end of January 2011, too.

Jenn’s Mini Maternity Shoot – Northern Virginia Maternity Photographer

I met with Jenn, Ben, and soon-to-be-big-brother, Owen, for a mini maternity shoot this morning at their house in Ashburn. Their family is expecting a little girl in mid-December and I look forward to shooting her newborn photos! They had an awesome tree in their side yard that was perfect for a family photo.

A fun, candid picture of Jenn and Owen on the swings outback… I look forward to seeing you all in a month!

We’re Expecting! – Northern Virginia Maternity Photographer

My wife, Kelly, and I are expecting #2 in 6 weeks! I will say with both of us working full-time and coming home to an active 20-month old son, this pregnancy has flown by. I would also venture to say that most of my blog followers are females and this is only a male’s perspective of his wife’s 2nd pregnancy! We don’t know what we’re having this time, but do know we are both anxious to find out.

Kelly never thought to do “maternity” pictures when she was pregnant with Brayden. Even though I had purchased my first digital SLR, I wouldn’t have considered myself a photographer let alone a professional photographer. Over the past year of developing my photography business, she has looked at more photoblogs than I have and decided she really wanted maternity shots this time around. We headed to a place nearby as the sun was setting and started shooting. These aren’t your traditional “maternity” portraits, either. I hope you enjoy them!

Janet’s Maternity Shoot – Northern Virginia Maternity Photographer

Janet, a good friend and colleague, joined Kelly and I for a maternity shoot the same evening (see the above post). They coordinated similar outfits and had a good time practicing their modeling poses together. Here are a few of my favorites.

Kevin & Andria Maternity Session – Washington, D.C. Maternity Photographer

I met with Kevin & Andria at the Willard Hotel in Washington, D.C. to take some maternity pictures. They were celebrating their two-year anniversary with a nice dinner and overnight stay at one of D.C.’s finest hotels. The hotel’s swanky decor complimented their outfits for a old-style, vintage feel… I included a lot of my favorites from our shoot together. Aubree Madison is due to arrive in early February and I look forward to meeting her!

Proof that pregnant women glow…

One of my all-time favorites.

The suitcase has been in their family for over 200 years and is going to be passed down to Aubree. It not only carries sentimental value, but it’s great for carrying props. In the second picture, it looks like Kevin is packed and ready to head to the hospital!

A maternity session wouldn’t be complete without belly pictures and little red booties.

Aubree will be very loved!
