Olivia, Ava & Leighton’s Family Sneak Peek – Northern Virginia Family Photographer

I met with Jason, Ashley, and their three beautiful girls for a newborn/family photo shoot. Leighton was only 5 days old, but had a full head of hair. We had a great time together trying new and interesting poses. Here’s one of my favs.

Graham’s Sneak Peek – Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer

I met with Jonathan and Hailey again to shoot newborn photos of their cute baby boy, Graham. Here are a few of my favorites! (BTW, it is great when the clients have interesting crates, boxes, suitcases, and more for props. * HINT HINT *)

Here is luggage that has been in the family for over a century. I love the yawn in the 2nd picture.

Adrienne’s Newborn Sneak Peek – Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer

I met with with Branden and Sandy to take pictures of their new little girl, Adrienne. She was as adorable as it gets. While she only liked to be on her side, she was a good sleeping baby allowing us to try different outfits and headbands. Here are a few of my favorites.

At only 6 days old, Addison was a perfect newborn baby model. She slept, didn’t cry, only pooped on my blankets twice, and most importantly, looked as cute as can be. I haven’t decided if Addison looks like Wes or Kristie (see their maternity pictures here), but I do know she looks adorable in this tutu.

Baby girls are so much easier to accessorize! Here are some cute headbands.

Jackson’s Newborn Sneak Peek – Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer

It may be weird to start a newborn post off with a picture of a golf ball, but this golf ball has significant meaning. Jackson’s father was playing golf one afternoon and happened to find a golf ball with the monogram Jackson on the side. It just so happened that the parents-to-be were debating between two names for their future son, one of which was Jackson. The next 9 holes were some of his best ever. Whether you believe in signs, fate, etc., this was an awesome story!

Jackson was awake for most of the session and here is one shot where he finally isn’t showing his parts!

He did manage to fall asleep for a short time where we knocked out a handful of pictures curled up. I liked the animals best.

Miss Elliett, nicknamed “Ellie,” was born 9 days ago. She arrived just in time for Spring, which is perfect because her parents love the outdoors! Here are a few cute pictures of Elliett with her matching blanket, booties, and stuffed animal.

Ellie’s mom was called “chipmunk” when she was little and the tradition is being carried on. Here is her new blankie.

Laney, short for Dulaney, was 9 days old when we got together for our newborn/family photo shoot. Mommy had a pretty basket which worked perfect for several shots. This is one of my all-time favorites. In addition to the photo below, I included a sample of “actioned” pictures that show additional options for post-processing. For newborn photo shoots, I generally stick with a standard post-processing style…

Ayla’s Newborn Sneak Peek – Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer

Ayla was 10 days old when we did her first modeling gig together. She has big, beautiful eyes which you’ll see in most of her pictures. Most of my “newborn” clients ask if I provide cute hats, bows, props, etc. I have some stuff (most of which my wife picks out), but always encourage people to gather a few props that may be interesting for photo shoots. A popular website for ordering “stuff” is etsy.com. If you’re interested in a mommy & me package (maternity & newborn pictures), ask me about how you can receive a discount by purchasing some props for our photo shoot together that I can keep for future sessions!

Ayla’s middle name is Jewel… hence the pearls and Mommy’s jewelry.

Blake’s Newborn Sneak Peek – Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer

Blake was born two weeks ago and while she wasn’t a sleeping beauty, we still got some great shots of her awake! The ones in her tutu were really cute. On a side note, it’s always interesting meeting new people whether they are referred to me by a friend, a previous client, or simply find my photoblog through a search engine. I happened to meet Blake’s mother through real estate (we’re both full-time realtors®)… she is representing buyers and I’m representing sellers in the same transaction. Not only has it been a pleasure working with her, it was fun to connect on a personal level.

I absolutely love this expression…

Blake has beautiful blue eyes. I had to get a close up photo since she was awake the whole time!
